Frequently Asked Questions
Are Allies welcome to join QVC?
Queer Vinyl Collective is intended as a safe space and community exclusively for queer identifying folks. To maintain this environment, to join QVC as a Resident DJ or Community Member, you must identify in this way.
However, QVC will often host events open to allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. If an event is open to allies, it will be clearly stated in event details. Anyone participating in QVC events or membership is held to the expectations stated in our Code of Conduct.
Does QVC host private events?
At this time, QVC is focusing on public community events and member only events as we grow. However, stay tuned because Queer Vinyl Collective is growing and evolving.
I’m a Business Owner that supports LGBTQIA+ causes. How do I get involved?
We’d love to work with local business owners that support QVC’s mission of a safe and equitable community for queer folks in the music/vinyl scene! If you’re interested in partnering or hosting an event, drop us a line here.
I’m Queer! I love music! Can I join QVC?
YES! No matter your musical style, proficiency, or desires (ex. “I don’t have any desire to DJ. I just love vinyl!”), you have a home at Queer Vinyl Collective. We’re growing, so stay tuned for events focused on enjoying vinyl in lots of different ways (think Dance Party Nights, Vinyl DJing 101, Vinyl Care Workshops, etc.). QVC is dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment without ego or a barrier of entry.
